Russian as a Foreign Language Programmes
At the Udmurt State University the language of instruction is Russian. That is why before entering the University international students should take a preparatory one-year Russian language course.
Foreign students of any Russian language competence can study Russian language both during the whole academic year (September-July) or Fall/Spring semester (September-December/ January- July).
The minimal duration of the course is 5 weeks. Both group and individual classes are held Monday to Friday, at least 10 academic hours a week. One academic hour = 45 minutes.
The programmes are aimed at systematic improvement of speaking, listening, reading, writing and communicative skills. Students learn not only grammar and vocabulary, but also much about everyday life in Russia, its customs and traditions, rules of behavior and the way things work in Russia. Russian language courses at the Udmurt State University enable students to get immersed into Russian life and prepare for further studies in Russia.
Classes are held in small groups (3-12 people) by qualified teachers. All courses incorporate a diverse cultural program.
Udmurt State University offers the following Russian as a Foreign Language programmes in 2017-2018:

**Language classes are free for some exchange students in accordance with bilateral agreements.All the programmes aim to develop and improve speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. A rich cultural programme that includes exciting tours, study excursions, workshops, video-clubs etc is an integral part of the courses.
In accordance with the agreement between the Udmurt State University and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, students can take the State Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL) at the Centre of International Education and get a Certificate. This Certificate represents official international recognition of a student’s level of Russian language. All programmes are created by highly qualified teaching staff specialized in the field of Russian language teaching.

Accommodation fee: 2 500 – 3 500 Russian Rubles per month (approx. 40 - 50 $)
Medical examination (X-Ray test, dermatologist, therapist) – approx. 500 Russian Rubles
Medical insurance – 4000 Russian Rubles per 1 year

Document Pursued: Transcripts of Records with detailed information about the level and academic load of the course, total credits and final grades.Students can add to the course of Russian as a foreign language courses in English within the non-degree programme "Russian and Regional Studies".
