On April 23 an American lecturer and Fulbright ETA Matthew Orr delivered a lecture on US education within the framework of “International Lecturer’s Day” held under the initiative of UdSU International Relations Office.
In the talk Matthew covered such topics as structure of the US educational system, its legal foundation, the role of states and the Ministry of Education in the education process, the distinguishing features of teaching and curricula in American colleges, classroom culture and so on.
The lecture arose much interest among UdSU students and faculty attending the event. The lecturer gave detailed answers to numerous questions which followed the talk.
Such public events have undoubtedly become a worthy tradition contributing to inter-cultural dialogue, friendly relationship and understanding between nations, and developing the attendees’ language skills.
