On October 17-18, 2019 Udmurt State University hosts the I International Conference "Budget as a Subject of Social Sciences". The aim of the conference is to identify economically promising areas of scientific research, to project ways of budget literacy development, and to work out practical recommendations for budget relations improving.
The first day of the conference was held in the Friendship of Peoples House of Udmurt Republic.The plenary session was attended by leaders and employees of regional financial bodies and municipal authorities, deputies of various government levels, scientists, experts, undergraduate and doctoral students. The Rector of Udmurt State University Galina V. Merzlyakova gave her welcoming speech to the conference participants. She noted that being an educational base of Udmurt Republic, UdSU is interested in training highly qualified personnel for various spheres of life, including the field of economics. The conference will help to resolve important issues and share experience and practices in the field of budgeting. Professor Merzlyakova outlined forming of scientific and practical recommendations for the implementation of budgetary decisions in an interdisciplinary context as the main task.
Among other speakers were Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Udmurt Republic – A.I. Strokov, Head of the Center for Initiative Budgeting at the NIFI Research and Finance Ministry of the Russian Federation – V.V. Vagin, Associate Professor of Department of Finance, Accounting and Mathematical Methods in Economics, Institute of Economics and Management, UdSU – S.F. Fedulova, Professor of the University of Madeira – Domingos Rodriguez.
The conference continues its work on October 18 on the premises of the UdSU Library.
