Application for Detecting Alzheimer's Disease

UdSU scientists have developed an application for detecting Alzheimer's disease. The idea is a virtual environment in the form of a labyrinth through which patients are guided once. After this they need to return to the starting point. As loss of spatial memory is considered one of the early signs of Alzheimer's disease, this project is designed to identify abnormalities at the early stages.

The mentor of the project, implemented within the framework of the Priority 2030 program, is Sergey P. Kozhevnikov, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Physiology, Cell Biology and Biotechnology of Udmurt State University. Students majoring in Information Technology at the Kalashnikov Academy provided great assistance in the development of the application.

The earliest version of the product was entered into the “Innovations in Rehabilitation” competition of the Skolkovo Foundation and is now undergoing a series of tests. In the future, it is also planned to refine the equipment using real patients in medical clinics.
