On April 20 the Student Applied Research Conference “Patriotic Upbringing based on the Legacy of Past and Present” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II took place in UdSU library. The Conference was jointly held by the UdSU Institute of Social Communications and the Cadet Center ‘Granitsa’. High school as well as university students presented the results on their research on such topics as “Man at war and what became of the war generation”, “The Second World War in culture, art, and history”, “Story of an artifact” etc.
The conference was an international one with participants coming not just from the cities and villages of Udmurtia and neighboring regions but also Uzbekistan. Thus, the second-year student of the Institute of Economics and Management Kobilbek Sulaimanov made a report on the contribution of Uzbek people into the victory over Nazism. He also performed a song in Uzbek language which was warmly greeted by the audience.
The Conference pursued and achieved the goals of preserving the national historic heritage, engaging students into social activities, developing their creativeness. Moreover, it provided for strengthening the partnership relations with the Uzbek Republic which have been revitalized recently thanks to the visit of UdSU delegation to Tashkent.
