To further develop engineering education within the framework of the Priority 2030 program, for the first time in Udmurtia, a modern robotics laboratory was opened at Udmurt State University. The laboratory aims to study global software standards used in the development of robotic platforms. It is equipped with robots for studying the open operating system Robot Operating System and includes 4 interactive training grounds for acquiring and enhancing practical tasks in navigation and machine vision.
The project is being implemented jointly with the UdSU partners - the Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and the company Voltbro. The Robot Operation System is supposed to be used not only for training, but also for creation of general-purpose robotic systems to meet the demands of the region.
At the opening ceremony, the Head of the Voltbro company, leading engineer of the Research Institute of Mechanics of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Anton Rogachev noted that such interaction between universities is a rare case.
“Now the key direction of development is artificial intelligence, and our task is not to fall behind. The laboratory, which was opened at UdSU, is at a very high world level. Udmurtia is one of the most technological regions of Russia. Now we are laying the foundation stones to get the result!” he said.
We are proud to be the first regional project of this kind in the Russian Federation!
