UdSU turns 90 today!

In 2021 the Udmurt State University is celebrating its 90th anniversary. The university history begins on March 25.

On this very day back in 1931 UdSU began as a pedagogical institute with just 160 students and 12 teaching staff.

Today it is the leading classical university of the Udmurt Republic, its research and educational centre with over 18,000 students from 60 Russian regions and 35 world countries. Our faculty grew to more than 1,000 members and the number of educational programmes to 122, 22 of which have been recognized as “The best educational programmes of innovative Russia”. Nowadays UdSU successfully cooperates with over 50 foreign partners and 600 business enterprises in Russia.

During its 90-year history the University has trained over 140,000 specialists and made great contribution to development of the Izhevsk city and the Udmurt Republic. We are proud of these achievements and the success of our graduates – all of which have become possible due to collaborative efforts of our teaching and administrative staff, students and alumina.

New large-scale projects and opportunities are lying ahead.

My warm Jubilee greeting to the whole university community!

Rector,

Galina V. Merzlyakova
